Lead-magnet ideas by industry: choose a resource your buyer needs

A curated guide adapted from Shruti Kaushik's Notion library, with practical ideas for SaaS, agencies, consultants and independent experts.

Choose the resource by the job your buyer needs to finish, not by the most impressive title. An implementation checklist, positioning brief or proposal-review sheet can be useful when it matches a real decision. These ideas adapt the practical material in Shruti's Notion lead-magnet library; they do not carry forward its unsupported sales-uplift claims.

For B2B SaaS: help someone evaluate or implement

An implementation checklist can help a buyer identify owners, required information and open questions before introducing new software. A use-case guide can explain when the product fits and when it does not. A comparison worksheet can help a team record requirements without pretending that one provider is always the answer.

Keep the resource useful independently of the sale. State which parts are general planning advice and which refer to your actual product. If an integration is not available, do not describe a checklist as an integration toolkit. The deliverable should help the buyer understand the work, not make a future capability look live.

For agencies: make the brief easier to prepare

A positioning worksheet, content-calendar planner or creative brief can help a prospective client organise the information an engagement needs. Include a completed fictional example and a blank version. Explain what the agency still needs to validate rather than making the worksheet look like a finished strategy.

This library includes a buyer-positioning workbook and a 30-day content planner. They develop the one-page positioning and manageable-content-routine ideas in the original Notion notes into usable exercises. The time required depends on the reader's context; no fixed completion time or growth outcome is promised.

For consultants: help the buyer ask better questions

A proposal-review checklist can help a buyer compare scope, ownership, assumptions and exclusions. A readiness worksheet can surface missing information before a project begins. A process map can help a team identify where work is handed over and who is responsible.

Avoid labelling a general worksheet as a personalised audit. If you have not examined the business, describe it as self-assessment material. The next step can be a conversation about the questions the reader could not answer, rather than a generic sales pitch.

For freelancers: explain the deliverable

A website-copy brief, interview-preparation sheet or feedback checklist can show how you work while helping the client prepare. A clear example makes your contribution tangible without needing confidential portfolio material.

Include what a good input looks like, common gaps and the boundary of your service. Do not publish a swipe file that reproduces another creator's work without permission. An original template based on a common task is a more defensible resource than a collection of copied high-performing posts.

For students and local businesses: keep the task concrete

Students can use a project-explanation worksheet: objective, contribution, decision, evidence and lessons. Credit collaborators and follow institutional requirements. A small professional presence does not require pretending a classroom project was a commercial launch.

A local business can offer a visit-preparation checklist, a guide to information needed for a quote or questions to ask before choosing a service. For regulated or sensitive work, keep the resource within appropriate expertise and avoid personalised medical or financial advice. A useful administrative checklist is different from a professional recommendation.

Choose the idea you can support today

Shortlist three ideas and ask which one uses material you already have permission to share. Then ask whether the reader could complete a small task with it. Pick the idea with the clearest job, not the broadest promise.

Use the lead-magnet launch kit in this library to plan the content, access, distribution and review. These resources can lead to a Wise Mango, Inc. service conversation or a Klype platform visit, but neither a download nor a click establishes that the person is ready to buy.

Common questions

Are these completed templates from Notion?

This is a curated adaptation of ideas in Shruti's Notion library, not a direct export of every original page. Use the downloadable workbooks in this site's resource library for completed exercises.

Does using a lead magnet multiply sales?

No fixed uplift is claimed. Its usefulness, audience, distribution and follow-up affect what happens, and downloads must be distinguished from qualified enquiries.
